Melora Luxury Essentials takes your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit our website meloraluxury.com, place an order, request an installation or contact us in any other way, and why we do so. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible?

Melora Luxury Essentials (sole proprietorship), Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 42128413, VAT NL005519322B69, is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at info@meloraluxury.com.

Which data do we process?

Contact details: name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number.
Order details: the products you view, add to your cart or buy, and any returns.
Payment details: the payment method and payment status. Your full card or account details are processed by the payment provider; we do not see them.
Account details: if you create an account, your login details and preferences.
Communication: the content of messages you send us, for example via the contact form or by email, and details about your wall or room that you share for an installation.
Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device and how you use our website, including through cookies.

Why do we process your data?

To fulfil your order or assignment (performance of the contract): processing payment, delivery, scheduling installation, handling returns and complaints.
To stay in touch with you (performance of the contract or legitimate interest): answering your questions and keeping you informed about your order.
Newsletter and marketing (consent): only if you sign up. You can always unsubscribe via the link in every email.
Improving and securing the website (legitimate interest): preventing fraud and analysing how the website works.
Legal obligations: for example, the statutory obligation to keep invoices for tax purposes.

Who do we share your data with?

We never sell your data. We only share it where necessary for the purposes above, with:

Shopify, the platform our online store runs on;
payment providers, such as Shopify Payments, PayPal and Klarna;
carriers and our supplier, to deliver your order;
fitters working on our behalf, if you request an installation;
authorities, if we are legally required to do so.

We make agreements with parties that process data on our behalf about the security and confidentiality of that data.

Shopify

Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes data about your visit and purchases to provide and improve its service. For certain functions, such as fraud prevention, Shopify is itself responsible for that processing. You can read more in Shopify's privacy policy for customers.

Transfers outside the EU

Some service providers, including Shopify, may process data outside the European Economic Area. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Cookies

Our website uses functional cookies that are needed, for example, for your cart and checkout. We only place analytical and marketing cookies with your consent, which you give or refuse via the cookie banner.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep your data longer than necessary. We keep order and invoice data for 7 years because of the statutory tax retention obligation. We keep messages you send us for as long as needed to handle your question or complaint. We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe.

Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. The website and checkout use a secure connection.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to processing, restrict processing, have your data transferred and withdraw any consent you have given. Send your request to info@meloraluxury.com. We will respond within one month. We may first ask you to confirm your identity.

Complaints

Do you have a complaint about how we handle your data? Let us know and we will work with you to find a solution. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
